A growing division of a corporation continues to expand and increase sales. This division produces close tolerance medical device implants and surgical instruments. This is a very busy facility with many new orders and customers. They have state of the art CNC equipment and swiss CNC lathes. This division recently purchased several new machine tools. We are searching for a highly skilled machinist that progressed into swiss CNC programming and process development. Our client will consider manual CNC programing or use of CAM software. The Engineering Technician will be the subject matter expert to support the swiss lathe department. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work from a print, select equipment, calculate cycle times, develop the process, tooling package, CNC program and work instructions. Knowledge of cutting tool applications and the ability to optimize the process is needed. The Engineering Technician will process the part, set up the swiss lathe, edit, prove out the program and train the machinist. Past experience training others is a huge plus. This division has a skilled workforce. We are searching for candidates who can increase the skill level of their team members and train new employees as the company continues to grow. The Engineering Technician will select guide bushings, collets, tool holders and cutting tools to optimize the process and create the most efficient method to produce the component. The ideal candidate will have good troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose machine tool, CNC program, process or set up issues. Past experience setting up, programming and troubleshooting on Star, Citizen, Tsugami or other brands of swiss CNC lathes is needed. We are searching for candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience programming swiss CNC lathes. The position would be ideal for a high skilled swiss lathe machinist/programmer, CNC programmer, engineering technician, engineer, team leader, leadman or supervisor. This is a great opportunity to further develop a swiss turn department. The engineering Technician will be given the ability to make changes and decisions to improve and grow the swiss lathe department. This is a perfect position for candidates who dont like to be micro managed to have management support.
MUST HAVE: previous hands on swiss lathe set up experience and 5 years plus of swiss CNC lathe manual or cam software programming. The swiss CNC Engineering Technical will need the ability to work from a print, process, program, set up, prove out and train others.
