Summary:
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Reimbursement Analyst gathers and compiles financial and operational data, analyzes and summarizes that data in a manner which accurately represents financial results and complies with government regulations and third party contracts.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate and timely information regarding 3rd party reimbursement and prepares financial and statistical reports including Medicare and Medicaid DRG payment analyses.
Designs and maintains databases for allocation statistics and physician information used in Medicare cost reporting.
Assists with all aspects of Medicare cost reporting, including expense analysis and statistics gathering.
Performs functions for month-end financial reporting of net revenue and assists with year-end financial audits.
Assists in development of hospital operating budgets, particularly in regard to gross and net revenue, charge amounts, volumes, proper coding and system interfaces.
Performs miscellaneous analyses and studies for use in the Medicare Cost report, other official filings, and surveys as required.
Responds to questions from financial, government, and 3rd party auditors.
Utilizes specialty computer programs, such as for Medicare cost reporting and contract management.
Understands general ledger and patient accounting systems and program interfaces and can determine most efficient and accurate source of information.

Qualifications:
BA/BS in Accounting, Business, or Finance; MBA preferred Experience in healthcare and reimbursement preferred.
Strong analytical, technical and organizational skills required as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience and proficiency with computers and in software spreadsheet applications required.
Excellent motivational skills as well as the ability to be a change agent Recommended Skills Accounting Accounting Systems Analytical Clinical Works Coaching And Mentoring Continuous Quality Improvement (Cqi) Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
